Coven market in Salem soft open

While the big opening day isn’t until Memorial Day weekend we stopped by the new market/cafe the other day to check it out.

The shop is not fully functioning but they do have some fun and hard to find products. If you’re into a crunchy lifestyle you might be pleasantly surprised that Coven has some hard to find vegan foods.  Vegan fake bacon, cheese, ice cream and other soy based alternatives are available in their market section.  They also stock some fruits, veggies and a good selection of herbs.

One of the features everyone is talking about is their cereal bar. Plenty of your childhood favorites to choose from.

There is plenty of seating at Coven, both up front by the giant glass windows and in back, decorated with funky rock memorabilia and monster style painting.

Right now their desert coolers are pretty bare but based on the look of these brownies I’m guessing they will have some delicious morsels soon.

The staff was friendly and hectic trying to work out the kinks that arise during a pre-opening.  We look forward to going back when they have a full blown opening.

Special thanks to Forrest Frazier who took these pictures for us.
