Gulu Haiku

Written by Glen Hughes on April 8th, 2008 1 Comment

We attended the inaugural night of the Witch City Poetry Series, Sunday at Gulu-Gulu Cafe. It was a new and enriching experience. As an ode to poetry month (thats right April is poetry month) here are some thoughts. You should make it down next week.

Salem poetry
every Sunday in April
at Gulu-Gulu

Mr. Chris brought it
poets came from all around
sharing lines of prose

hippy and beatnik
aloof and lost in head space
swirling in themselves

where would we find art
without keen introspection
open up your eyes

art and life exist
outside the sheltered confine
of your liberal life

I look forward to
spending Sundays in April
waxing poetic

Witch City Poetry
