Kim Carrigan and the North Shore Arc

Written by Glen Hughes on March 27th, 2008 No Comments

Each Friday we post a listing of what’s happening in Salem that weekend. Normally we would just add this as an item on the Weekend Warrior post but we wanted to give it a little more attention.

Kim Carrigan

Fox 25 news babe and Swampscott local Kim Carrigan will be in town tomorrow night for a special fund raiser. Kim does a good amount of philanthropic work with North Shore Arc. The North Shore Arc is dedicated to providing lifelong individualized supports to people with, or at risk of developing disabilities, and their families, ensuring opportunities to choose and realize their goals of where and how they learn, live, work, socialize and play. Friday night she will be at the Lyceum as the evenings hostess with the mostess.

13th Annual Wine Tasting & Auction to benefit the North Shore Arc

Wine events are growing more popular than ever in Salem and this event looks like a real winner. Where else can you have some great food, taste a good selection of wine, bid on some fantastic prizes all while having fun and putting your money to good use? According to an article in the Gazette:

This year’s auction promises to be our best one yet. We have a really unique variety of items for our auction including spa packages, Las Vegas getaway packages, tickets to popular local performances such as Blue Man Group, a children’s party package at “Pump It Up,” tickets to Boston’s Duck Boat Tours, a yacht cruise, a Derek Sanderson autographed hockey stick, Kevin Youkilis autographed baseball and a Celtics autographed basketball and a whole host of other exciting items that people continue to contribute.

One of Salem’s strengths is its commitment to helping others. Many fine organizations call this city their home and work hard to make it a better place. Remember that when you support this charitable event or any of the others that we feature here, you are helping your neighbors.
