Well, after much anticipation and a huge flame war on one of Salem’s message boards, Salem Wine Imports is now open.

Salem Wine Imports

Now we at TheSalemInsider.com are not oneologists but we do like a good glass of wine now and again. Thankfully the owner of Salem Wine Imports was available to help guide us through the store. Wines are arranged by region and nicley displayed around the shop.

A special bonus for any wine n00b is the eight bottle draught system in the rear room. A nitrous system keeps the wine fresh so you can sample a variety of bottles before you buy. This is a great feature and I can for see many wine tastings in the future.

In a time when so many other businesses are moving or closing their doors its great to see a new and somewhat unique shop open up in Salem. We wish them success.

I understnad a lot of businesses are closing their doors, but let’s take a look at what those businesses are. They are junkantique stores and haloween stores.

Many people would argue that the Henry Derby Botique, the baby store on the corner of Essex and North, Cool Jewls, Crepe Cafe and a few others I can’t think of were not junkantique or halloween stores.

In any event, they all closed because they were not offering something the people of this city needed or wanted. Hopefully the next wave of business that open will not make those mistakes.

Halloween stores will come and go they are seasonal and that is expected, the last thing this town needs is another junk shop.

I can agree with your point that some would argue with my opinions. By, the way…I checked out the Salem Wine Imports based on your article. Awesome wine shop, the owner was very knowledgable and interested in meeting my “taste.”Now that should be a sucess!!!

I have been to Salem Wine Imports a few times now, and the owner has always been very helpful. The shop has a great variety of price ranges - lots of stuff in the $10 - $15 range, but also wine in the $50+ range if you want to splurge. I sincerely hope that this store will be around for a long time. It is a welcome addition to Salem.

Note that this is a store in which every wine
sold has been personally tasted and selected by
the owner. In this respect, a rarity as today’s wine shops go. Every local wine buff should
    definitely check this place out.

I recently visited this wonderful quaint wine shop on Church Street in Salem. The selection was impeccable and Eric is very informed on all facets of the industry. I would not hesitate to recommend Salem Wine Imports to any relatives, friends, or acquaintances in search of a quality wine merchant in the area! Their web-site is very infomative as well.
