Taste of Thyme Cafe

Taste of Thyme Cafe
122 Washington Street

Taste of Thyme is worth the trip as long as your not in a hurry. This quaint, bustling diner is easily found right in the middle of downtown. It’s a bit overly lit, always busy on the weekend & offers easy access for baby strollers and people with disabilities. However it’s known by Salem insiders as the “cheap food, slow service diner.” Don’t expect to be acknowledged by the waitstaff until you’ve been waiting for quite a while. You need to be proactive to get noticed and seated.

Once you get to sit and order you’re food, it doesn’t disappoint. We know the blueberry muffins made in-house, are huge and a great bargain. We were a bit disappointed when they ran out of chocolate milk on a Sunday, but forgot about it when our heaping breakfast plates were put down on the table.

The inexpencive prices make Taste of Thyme a hit with the seniors and tourists, their portions make it a hit with us.

Idiot… You seat yourself here.. That’s how it has been for quite some time. If I worked there and saw you standing there like a moron, I’d probably just turn away from you as well. As there are clearly NO WAIT TO BE SEATED SIGNS.

As far as the rest of the service, I’m treated with a ton of friendliness and they always fill my cup when it’s half full.

The rest of the review is fine and it does take a little longer to get your food, but it’s well worth it in the end.

You should edit this review because it’s entirely inaccurate on the service end.

    Mike,

You must be blind as a bat and a jackass to boot. Go in there any weekend day and there is a WAIT TO BE SEATED sign. It takes forever to get seated and just as long to get food.

My guess is that you do work there.
